When we added a blog onto our website it was with the full intent to have fun enlightening pieces for the public to read however, today’s topic is far from fun. In our line of work it is our duty to be in the public mingling amongst the community, traveling to showings and closings, evaluating your homes to get them to market, and being out wearing the many hats it takes to do our absolute best in meeting your Real Estate needs, but we have been slowed down by an invisible enemy. This enemy goes by the name of COVID 19 and although it has slowed the world as a whole it will not stop us!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as of 04/13/2020 there are 554,849 confirmed cases of COVID 19 in the United States and 21,942 deaths. The CDC states that the virus is thought to spread mainly from person to person, there is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19), and the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.
Colorado State Governor Jared Polis announced on 03/25/2020 that a statewide stay-at-home order will begin on Thursday, March 26 at 6:00 a.m. and will last until April 11, 2020. This stay at home order was extended to April 26, 2020 as of April 9, 2020. This executive order means Coloradans should not be leaving their homes except for critical activities including obtaining food and other household necessities including medicine, going to and from work if you are a critical employee, seeking medical care, caring for dependents or pets, caring for a vulnerable person in another location, cannabis and liquor stores will remain open, or participating in outdoor recreation at a legally-mandated safe distance of six feet or more from other parties.
It’s difficult when looking at these facts to not have a sense of fear. For many of us this is a time of uncertainty. We thankfully have not had to face a pandemic of this nature in our lifetime until now and anytime the unknown happens it’s accompanied with anxieties. For us our biggest fear is how can we continue to meet the needs our community, assist our clients, while following the CDC and Govt. Pois’ guidelines/mandates. We also fear for all those who are financially affected, are ill, or the loved ones who have lost someone due to this virus. The feeling of helplessness and fear can be overwhelming, but here at Cornerstone we remain hopeful and have faith for recovery from this devastation.
Looking around at the members of our community and seeing them helping families in need with food, sewing masks to be used in our hospitals, and using technology to stay connected is what inspirers us at Cornerstone to stay strong and united. We have faith in all of you and hope that you have faith in us. Our doors may be temporarily locked, but we are always a phone call away not only for your Real Estate needs, but as a friend. We have faith that as the warmer seasons arrive we will recover and thrive because we are here for one another. We know that this isn’t easy, but always remember you are exactly where you are supposed to be and have faith over fear.
